POP -UP BIRTHDAY CARD TEMPLATE!

Hello everyone
Well I saw this being made with the Craft Robo and thought to myself I'll have a go at designing one of these with Cricut Design Studio and Cricut Expression. Well I was so excited when it worked posted it on the Cricut MB and guess what I left out the H!!!!!. Luckily a very nice MB member emailed me to tell me!! Lol luckily it had not been up for long so not many people had downloaded it!

Anyway I went back to the drawing board and redid it and here's the result. I am quite pleased and I will put some step by step instructions as where to score and fold although when you see it you'll probably be able to figure this out easily.
I am going to try to embed the .cut file this will be my first time so be patient if I can't do it straight away!

Hope you can use this in some way, obviously you can use your choice of card and embellishment and decorate as you wish! I'm already thinking names in cards!

Ok posted all pictures above haven't mastered the art of editing words in between the pictures yet so here are the instructions for putting the template together. For easiness I have just cut the design in black and white so you can see the design.

The card is made with 2 pieces of A4(81/2x11") card. After cutting the white card score as in pic 3 as you can see 3 score lines. Fold as in pic 4. Take another piece of A4 and fold in half lengthways. I use a dry glue or doublesided to adhere cutout to card. Place the cutout inside card so that your middle score matches up with the middle score of the black card, then stick down one edge to the bottom inside of your card. Fold down your cut out then glue top and close the black card over the top . This way you get perfect positioning and your card will close flat. Voila see Pic 1&2. My instructions are probably as clear as mud! lol but its's easy really!!

Right then now I will attempt to embed the.cut file.! Please leave me a little comment if you like it.

I cut the front off a pre-embossed white dcwv 5x5" card and pop dotted onto the card. the middle , happy birthday and name are mounted onto silver card then pop dotted. 40 is cut from glitter card using sizzix dies. A couple of pink gems some pink organza ribbon and some wiggly wire! I like plain cards I hope she does too.

WOOHOO I'VE GOT SKITTLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening everyone
I'm so excited as you can see from the title! Anyway the story is that there is a craze on the Cricut Forum for Skittles. What are Skittles you may ask. Well the only way I can describe the is that they are like a clear acrylic flat based cabouchon and they come in lots of colours. Thay are only available in the US and Canada but make really fabulous embellishments for cards.

Marilyn a fellow UK cricut MB member started a thread to see if there was anyone who knew if they were available here in the Uk. I posted that I was looking too and low and behold Steph(Pinkstar) an MB member from Canada mailed us and offered to do some shopping for us. Wow how wonderful was that and how kind!

So they arrived today and I must say look even better 'in the flesh'! so be prepared to see them on lots of my cards in the future!!

Oh by the way their real name is decorative accents and they are sold to go in vases and with candles but the lady on the MB who discovered them goes by the name Silly Skittles on the forum so they have been named Skittles after her!

Here is a picture of my new Skittles!!

MOVING TO AUSTRALIA

A friend of mine asked me to make her a card for a dear friend of hers who is moving with her family to Australia for 4 years ( how wonderful!) Anyway I was inspired by a card Susanbluerobot on the SCAL (SURECUTSALOT) forum which is a software program that will cut TTFs and DINGBATS through the cricut!!! Altough I couldn't use her file I made my own- ANOTHER BIG LEARNING CURVE I can tell you!!. SO what a marriage made in heaven SCAL and CRICUT. Australian map aperture designed with scal and Geobats fontdings. Bon Voyage cut with cricut and beyond birthdays cart and embossed with cuttlebug tiny bubbles ( I love this folder for embossing letters) I cut the Bon Voyage 4 times to give the look of chipboard. Little Koala in aperture(clipart) has been glued to the insert which has been printed on both sides with my Funky Hand CD fabulous papers!. Accent essentials added to the cute little Koala's eyes and nose and finally some organza ribbon. Inside personalised to the family and also wording Sending Big Koala Hugs!. Wow I think thats all I hope my friend likes it!!

BIRTHDAY CARD FOR TOM

A dear friend of mine's son will be 8 in a day or two. I designed this card for him this afternoon using Cricut design Studio and Plantin school cartridge and of course cut with Cricut. I embossed the silver letters with a cuttlebug folder and put a photo of Tom in the O. This is a large card 12"x4" luckily I have an envelope for it!!. Now of course if it was a girly card I could tie ribbons and add some bling but I don't think Tom would appreciate that!!!. Thanks for looking.

MALE CARD FOR A FILM BUFF

My Goddaughter Sarah 20 came over yesterday, she wants to get into cardmaking!! Yipee! she wanted to make a card for a very good friend of hers and had bought him some DVD films for his birthday so she designed a sketch of the card. I made the filmstrip by using lines on the computer and we chose computer generated font. She then got to see my big bug(cricut) in action she loved it. We cut letters in silver and shadow in black and embossed every other letter. She was so pleased with the result!

WEDDING CARD

My two friends asked me to make wedding cards for their brother and friend so I made the same card for both(don't usually like to do this but time not on my side!) I was inspired by a very talented lady on the Cricut message boards Susie B and used pre-embossed card. I wanted a slightly larger card so I cut off the front and pop dotted it onto a 6"x6" card. I cut a sizzix card for the centre and tied spotty organza ribbon round incorporating the wedding rings lots of matting and layering with gold and some little pearls. The words are computer generated using Paris font. I hope you like it and I hope they do too!!
