BBTB2 ZOO ANIMAL CHALLENGE

Hi
It's Monday and time for this week's challenge at BBTB2.  Our lovely Sharon is hosting the challenge this week and she asked us to create a project using a zoo animal from any cartridge.

I made a card and matching tag using an oldie but goodie cartridge Zooballoo.  A lot of the older cartridges featured silhouette outlines of cuts and I love these and use them often.

My card is  4"x6" and top opening. I covered with pink digital papers from Pink Petticoat and added some bllack and whit polka dot ribbon where the papers met. I used the silhouette outline cut of this darling little elephant from Zooballoo cut at 4", added some googly eyes and some blue Prima flowers  and coloured some gems black with a Sharpie for the centres. The greeting is a rub on.  The matching tag, also from Zooballoo was a plain tag with a square aperture (3") and I used CCR to weld the little elephant in to the aperture,  shadow cut in pink again and then matched the embellishment to the card.  Super fast and simple and and the first time I've not used Foam dots in ages!

Please pop over to BBTB2 and have a look at the fabulous Zoo projects the rest of the DT have created and join in the challenge with us!

Thanks for visiting and Happy Whitsun Bank Holiday (UK) and Happy Memorial Day (US) to you all

BBTB2 PASS IT ON CHALLENGE

Hello
It's BBTB2 challenge Monday and this week our very talented Sarah has chosen the theme of 'Pass it On'  Create a project that you can pass on just because,  not for any particular reason and brighten someone's day!  You can use any cut from any Cricut cartridge.

I decided to make card and decorate a bag to match to hold a little gift.

I bought Create A Critter cartridge ages ago  just for this sweet little owl and this is the first time I have cut her!

Now I have a little story, you know me, old school still using Design Studio, well not for this one gasp!!  I work at Hobbycraft and we've just had the Cricut Mini, I was so excited and of course volunteered to bring one home and set up CCR and do some samples for the shop.  I loved CCR (Cricut Craft Room which is a free online design programme for anyone out there who doesn't know) it's so easy to use and the Cricut Mini cuts like a dream, I'm really impressed by this little machine!

Now back to the details of my card, I welded 2 base owl cuts at 5.5" at the ears to make a shaped card and then cut a black base layer,  a pink layer and a green and white polka dot layer. beak and feet were cut in light blue. To assemble I pop dotted each layer for some dimension. The little owl on the bag has been cut the same but at 4" and laid on to a mat of pink gingham paper.  The sentiments and patterned paper are both from Craftwork Cards and I just inked over the sentiments to colour them pink. Finally my little obsession of late, tuille!  I added some light blue tuille bows to the bag and a little one to the card.

As for passing it on I have cut another set to assemble which I intend on giving to my lovely Mum!

Please jump on over to BBTB2 and see the gorgeous projects from the rest of the DT and please join in our challenge as we always love seeing your take!

Thanks so much for popping in and have a great week everyone!
