BBTB2 Bee Challenge QUEEN BEE!

Good evening
Over at BBTB2 this week the super talented Donna chose the challenge and it was to use the beautiful bee from the Sentimentals cartridge or any bee from any cartridge if you did't have the cart.
I don't have this cart........yet lol! so I cut open my Pooh and Friends cart (which I've had for a year still unopened!) as there is a cut little bee cut on there.
I went with an idea of a Queen Bee, this card could be for a birthday or Mothers day as what girl doesn't like to be treated like a Queen on her special day!
I designed the card using DS and 4 carts! thats a lot for me as I don't like hot swapping the carts too much, I know if I had a gypsy this would be so much easier but I like that the DS gives me a real size mat to build up my design on.
The carts I used:
The Bee   Pooh and Friends
Queen Bee text welded to bee hive is Cutting Up
Beehive welded to make a hive shaped card   Walk in my Garden
Crown is Sweet Treats.
For the papers which are all printed digis Margie!! All papers are Pink Petticoat except for the Yellow dotted paper which I thought looked like honeycomb and thats a paper from Kitsty Wiseman's CD Patty Picklicious. All black card is American Crafts and crown is silver mirricard.
The gems on her wings and googly eye are from my stash.
We would love to see your take on the challenge and you can join in with usover on the blog . My DT sisters have made the most fabulous BEE creations so pop over to BBTB2 and take a look and they also have a bloghop going on too with lots of candy to be had!
See you soon!

CUTTLEBUGSPOT AT THE MOVIES CHALLENGE!

Good morning all
Over at the Cuttlebugspot this week we have had so much fun ! Nilda set us a wonderful challenge to create
a project/card featuring our favourite movie/TV show.
When I was little my favourite film was Mary Poppins and I even had the album so I knew all the songs word for word!
So of course that just had to be the theme for my card this week!
My card is approx 6"x6" and I started off with the backing paper which is a download from Pink Petticoat and the benefit of it being a digi paper is that I was able to add the text straight into the clouds! I printed it twice and cut out 2 clouds which I embossed with CB folder Swiss Dots and pop dotted. Next came the houses which a gorgeous clip art set from Lettering Delights and comes in PNG format so you can place the houses wherever you want and of course I wa able to add my text again before printing. I printed these twice and cut one layer to lay at the bottom of the card and a few roofs to layer and cuttled 2 with CB folder Tiny Mosaics. I also cut one of the roofs out of red and white polka dot paper (Pink Petticoat) to co- ordinate with Mary's umbrella! Finally I found this fabulous SVG file for use with SCAL programme to cut out on my Cricut from a wonderful blog Reddy's Ramblings, thank you so much Reddy, this file is fab with all the extra bits to layer Mary included. I chose to cut her as a silhouette and just used the umbrella layer and bag layer as highlights. I placed my Mary Poppins flying above the houses! I did have to look up the spelling of Supercalifragil................................... on the internet lol! Sentiment is all computer generated font is Fontdiner Sparkly. I so enjoyed this weeks challenge and hope you like my card , my DT sisters have some fabulous creations over at the Cuttlebugspot so be sure to visit and why not join in the fun and you could also win a prize this week.
I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamps challenge this week which is a movie theme with dry embossing
Thanks as always for taking the time to visit me!

BBTB2 CHALLENGE FROM MY KITCHEN

Good evening
Well this week is my first challenge as a DT member for BITTEN BY THE BUG2. To say I was nervous is an understatement! Dee Dee from the team chose a cut from From My Kitchen cart and I wouldn't have even known this cut existed! It's the tabs card cut on the ice cream cut. It's a pretty little card with some flowers cut out.
I decided to use the tab as a tag card for a bunch of flowers. Backing paper is silver and duck egg blue from Hunky Dory. I first cut the tabs card at 7 1/2"in black and white polka dot and just used the flower cut outs for the large flowers. I also cut it at 1 1/2" in the same paper for a tag and backed with some lemon striped paper and rub on sentiment and added some little pearls and a gem. I made the ribbon flowers using a wonderful video tutorial by Kirsty Wiseman see her blog here. The tutoruial is for crepe paper flowers and the white flower is done with crepe but I decided to try some wired pink and green ribbon for the other two flowers and added pearl centres Finally a pink bow to finish off!
You should see the fabulous projects the rest of the team have created! Hope you'll pop over to BBTB2 and we'd love you to join in the challenge and don't forget to check out the Magnolia contest which is still going on!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a great week

MAKE A WISH

Good evening
Hope you're all enjoying the weekend and the lovely weather we're having in the UK!
I made this card for a challenge recently but didn't use it so I am posting it today and entering it into a couple of challenges.
The stamp (Bella panel by Stamptivity) reminds me of when I was a little girl and when the dandelions had gone to seed we would pick them and blow the little feather like seeds which we called 'fairies' and would make a wish. Oh to be young again!
For the background I used a free download from years ago that I found on my computer and changed the colours to pink and green. The black butterflies are a mixture of vellum and acetate punched with my MS butterfly punch and coloured with a black promarker and pink pearls added. I inked around my stamped image with a pink versamagic chalk ink and matted on to white card which has been cuttled with CB folder Jules Jewells and inked with pale green chalk ink. I added some black organza ribbons some paper roses which are again inked with pink and Prima pink pearl swirls. The sentiment is computer generated font is 'Santa's Sleigh'
I am entering this into the following challenges:
Sir Stampalot Challenge 'Fantasy'
By The Cute And Girly 'Fairy Tales'
Thanks for visiting
Be back soon!

CUTTLEBUG SPOT BLING CHALLENGE AND A BLOGHOP!

Good evening
Over at the Cuttlebugspot this week Nilda set a bling challenge so get out your gems and glitter!
For my card I decided to use a new butterfly die by Marianne Design that I recently bought and covered it with clear and lilac gems. The backing paper is a Pink Petticoat download called Granny's Wallpaper and I have made the border at the bottom using my large scallop EK border punch and laid gems along the scallops and two lilac metal roses. I set a gem oval behind the butterfly and 3 lilac metal roses. The bottom of the card is cuttled with a Sizzix embossing folder from the Birthday set and the text is computer generated font is Dali.
Now for the fun! The Cuttlebugspot is part of a bloghop with some other challenge blogs with some fab prizes so hop on over there now and see what you need to do to be in with a chance!
Have a great week everyone!

SPRING CHALLENGE AT LILY-BOO TOO!

Good morning
It feels like I haven't been here for ages! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
This month over at Lily-Boo too challenge blog we have a Spring themed challenge going on! The challenge is a colour challenge and the only stipulation is that your card/project includes the colours yellow, pale green and blossom.
My card is quite simple, I made this little thank you card using a gorgeous daisy image from the Flowers Collection. I cut an A5 card in half so this card opens from the side and covered with backing paper from a lovely new gingham download from Pink Petticoat. I left the image quite plain and just paper pieced the flower centres with some spotty papers again Pink petticoat and coloured the leaves with promarkers. I used one of my new Martha border punches for the white punched strip and inked the edges in pale green and added some lemon organza ribbon. Finally I inked the edges of the card and added a thank you rub on.
Be sure to pop over to the Lily-Boo too blog and take a look at the gorgeous creations the Dt have made this month and we'd love you to play along too!
Have a wonderful week!
