CHRISTMAS IN JULY! CUTTLEBUG SPOT CARD

Good afternoon everyone
I'm feeling really groggy today full up with cold, sore throat and thumping head, I blame all this weird weather we're having at the moment one minute sunny the next torrential rain! I suppose that's typical weather for the UK!!
The paracetamol have kicked in so I thought I would post my DT card for the Cuttlebug Spot this week!
Nilda set us a task this week Christmas in July! Now I am naughty I never make Christmas cards I buy them!! To be honest it takes me so long to make a card that if I did hardly anyone would get a card at Christmas lol!
Having said that I really enjoyed making the card!
My card is A5 in size(8 1/2X11" folded in half) I covererd the front of the card with pre embossed gold mirricard which just has some embossed pattern over the right top side. I then cut two mound type shapes from white card which I cuttled with the Sizzix dots folder ( from the dots and flowers set it is nearly the same as CB Swiss Dots but the dots are a tiny bit bigger) for a snowy landscape. The sleigh is cut with my Cricut and Christmas Cheer cart @ 3 3/4 shadow in white, base and layer in gold mirri. I cut a couple more to adhere together to make it more dimensional. The top layer is cuttled with another of my new CB folders Victoria which I really like and will be using this one lots! I adhered white pom poms from Hobbycraft along the top of the sleigh and some white rope like cord also Hobbycraft in between the sandwiched pop dotted layers of the sleigh to look like reins. The presents are just hand cut little shapes which I embossed with little bits from the Christmas bauble A2 CB folder and the little embosser which comes in the CB snowman cut and emboss set. Added some gems, sequins and pearls. Some snowflake buttons in the top corner and the sentiment is from my stash and joined on the cord with gold jump rings. Phew I think that's all! This card was fun to make but a pain to photograph it is so shiny!
We'd love you to join in with us at the Cuttlebug Spot this week and see some of your gorgeous Christmas creations and the winner of this weeks challenge will win a $20 gift certificate for Custom Crops!

Thanks for looking and have a great week all!

21ST BIRTHDAY CARD USING NEW CUTTLEBUG HERRINGBONE FOLDER

Good afernoon all
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!
Another male card today! Hopefully I can get back to pink and blingy very soon!
I was asked to make a 21st card for someone and my remit was his name, age, likes guitars and they wanted some photos on the card too!!
So armed with some childhood photos of Andrew, some DCWV Rockstar guitar paper this is what I came up with.
The card is backed with guitar paper from the DCWV rockstar pad.I used my cricut and Don Juan cart for the 21 cut in black for the base and silver for shadow @ 4 3/4". The base numbers have been embossed with one of the new CB embossing folders, this time I used Herringbone and like Donna Mundinger said on her blog this looks like tyre tracks (perfect for a male then!) Andrew's name has been done by welding letter in Design studio using Wildcard cart and silver mirri card and cut 3 times and adhered together to give a chipboard look. I cropped the photos and changed them to black and white and printed them on to silver inkjet film and the frames are shadow and base cut at 1 3/4 from My World cart. The middle frame is computer generated Happy Birthday font is Broadway on silver inkjet film. Some black 3d foam for pop dotting too. For special occasions I always record the details on the back of the card so that it's more of a keepsake as in the last photograph. I use software programme Greeting Card Factoty Deluxe programme for this as it's great for positioning and the font is again Broadway.
This card was so hard to photograph with all the silver foil papers etc and looks much better in real life!
Thanks as always for looking!

DANIEL'S BIRTHDAY CARD NEW DIAMOND PLATE CUTTLEBUG FOLDER

Good evening
I know I have shown this design of card before! I use it a lot as it's quick and easy! I've been waiting to get this new Diamond Plate Cuttlebug folder for the male cards I make because I thought it would give the mirricard a nice look of metal. I made this card last week for my son Connor's friend Daniel.
Well I am pleased with the folder but I wish the pattern had been a little bit smaller.
Letters are from Don Juan Cricut cart
Have a lovely evening all

CUTTLEBUGSPOT BLOG HOP

Good morning
This week over at the Cuttlebugspot we are having a blog hop! Nilda asked us to post a card or project on our blogs showcasing a technique such as inking/sanding/double embossing.
I chose sanding as I have yet to try one of the many c'ordinations papers I have acquired and not yet used! The whitewash c'ordinations sanded so nicely.
For my card I used the gorgeous new Owl CB embossing folder. I also used the music CB folder and I found that if after embossing it was better to open the folder and leave the paper in whilst sanding. That way the embossing doesn't flatten whilst sanding it. I added some blue satin ribbon from my stash and coloured some silver peeloffs black wit a permanent felt pen for Happy Birthdays and musical notes. I gave my Owl blue crystal eyes and decided to call him Owl' Blue Eyes(you know like Frank Sinatra was called Ol' Blue Eyes. I think I'm showing my age here lol!) hence the sentiment which is computer generated layered and pop dotted. The card is a landscape card and opens from the side.
Thanks for looking today and in true Blog hop style the blog to visit from here is my very talented DT sister Donna Mundinger and wait til you see her creation this week you are in for a real treat so click HERE to be transported to see her fabulous work! And don't forget to keep hopping to the next blog from there and finally we would love to see your creations too there is another wonderful prize up for grabs this week!
Have a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY USING LILY-BOOS FREE ROSE IMAGE

Good evening
Sam and Lou over at Lily-Boos Boutique posted a free image of a gorgeous rose that was quite intricate. I decided as my colouring is still not fab to see what I could do differently with it!
I converted the image to an SVG file in Inkscape and cut it out with SCAL on my Cricut. I had to make it quite large and my card is 10"x7" but the Cricut coped so well with all the intricate cutting!
The backing on the card is Kanban card black and speckled gold. The rose is cut with American crafts black card and I flittered it with some gold glamour dust which is now all over me too lol!I cut a black out in gold mirri card. The sentiment is computer generated font Edwardian Script ITC and printed on gold inkjet foil and then layered on black and gold. The rose and the sentiment have then been pop dotted.
I have posted pic 3 to show the cut out before it was mounted.. So don't forget to go over to Lily-Boos and get your free image Sam does beautiful work and there are quite a few freebies as well as gorgeous affordable collections to be had and they are so so versatile!
Thanks for looking and have a great evening ! Oh and please excuse my wonky photography!

HELLO CARD. LILY-BOO STAMPED IMAGE

Good morning everyone
I haven't done any blogging or creating for a week as I have had a very stressful week well it has been more like the whole month really with my son and school. Thankfully this is the last week before the Summer hols so hopefully we can relax and enjoy!
Anyway I felt very relaxed on Saturday evening colouring this cute Lilly-Boo stamped image to pop on a card, isn't she just so cute and there are 5 more in this collection called More Girls over at Lilly-Boos Boutique and they're only £1.99 and you just print from your computer any size you like and colour!
This is a small card for me 5x5". Card is covered with striped green paper from Making Memories and the green offset mat is also Making Memories. I coloured the image with my promarkers (still learning!!) and printed a second image which I cut out the bird and the cloud again and pop dotted. I stickled the cloud and popped a little pink gem flower in the little girls hair and found these gorgeous little green beads in my stash so I dotted some glossy accents over the foliage and poured them on! Oh and I then dotted right around with my lime green promarker pen to make the dotty area my eyes were all over the place after this!!!! Hello is a rub on.
Thanks for looking and don't forget to pop over to Lily-Boos Boutique to see all the wonderful variety of stamped images available.
Have a great day!

'I'M SO BEHIND' CUTTLEBUG SPOT

Good morning
Happy Monday everyone the start to another week, I don't know where the time is going this year I can't believe it's July already!
Here is my card for the Cuttlebug Spot challenge this week. Nilda asked us to make something that was funny eg stamp or funny sentiment.
Here is my card! It's a 6x6" card and the backing paper is Making Memories Brooke collection. The stamped image is a download from Pink Petticoat and I cut it as a circle with my circle Nestabilities and cuttlebug. She is coloured with Promarkers and I did not have a light grey for the elephant so I used light grey eyeshadow!!! I have layered her bow and booty with pop dots. I cut a scalloped circle @ 5" using Mini Monograms and my Cricut and embossed with sizzix folder dots (it's almost the same as cbug swiss dots except the dots are a little bigger and so is the folder) I added some flowers from Poppicrafts and little pink polka dot buttons are from Bloomin Felt. The sentiment Sorry I forgot is computer generated (can't remember the font) and the 'I'm so behind' actually came with the image stamp from Pink Petticoat in black so I took it into my graphics programme where I have learnt that I can change image to png then this allows me to change it to any colour!
Lots of pop dotting on this card and finished off with some pink gems. So now I have a belated birthday card in case I need one which with my memory these days may be very soon lol!
Thanks for visiting today and why not come over to the Cuttlebug Spot and join us, We'd love to see your creations and there's a fab $20 prize up for grab from Custom Crops!
Have a lovely week

MUM'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Good afternoon
It's my wonderful Mum's birthday today and she love's butterflies so I made this card for her. It's a quick and easy card but I think it's quite elegant.
It's a DL card and I covered it with white glossy card with gold from Kanban. The Mum is cut with my cricut and Beyond Birthdays cart @ 2 1/4" in gold Mirricard and shadow in white glossy photocard(which cut like a dream!) The butterfly is a Quickutz Revolution Die Monarch Butterfly which I bought about 6 months ago and this is it's first airing! Shame on me!! This has also been cut in gold mirri and white photo gloss card. Then lots of flatback pearls and done!!
Excuse my wonky photography!
Thanks for looking!
Have a wonderful birthday Mum!
