BACK TO SCHOOL! CUTTLEBUGSPOT

Good morning all
Over at the Cuttlebugspot this week Nilda asked us to make a project celebrating Back To School. My son Connor is back to school next Thursday and at 15 he is not well pleased lol!
Anyway I made a card with the apple border feature from Doodlecharms Cricut cart.
The card is DL and covered with some b&W paper which I thought looked like a blackboard and is from an old DCWV paper stack. The apples are cut in white for the border feature and an apple green( I had to make this colour on my computer to get the colour I wanted!) photo glossy although the pics don't really pick up the gloss! I coloured the stalks with promarkers and then embossed with a quickutz stripe folder. The apples are embossed with cuttlebug folders numbers folders to represent maths lessons, script folder for English lessons and music folder for music lessons. the back to school are just some little stickers cut up from my stash and I made the cute little red gingham bows using my Glitter Girls bow folder (I love this little tool it makes making bows sooo easy!)Apples are pop dotted for dimension and I was done!
Please come over to the Cuttlebugspot and see the wonderful projects my DT sisters have come up with this week and be sure to join in we would love to see your take on the challenge!
Have a great Bank Holiday I'm just off to work!!

My flowers are 3 little stickpins and for my ribbon I used yellow ric rac for my sun and pink satin to hang my picture. SHIP IN A BOTTLE CARD!

Good morning just it's just past midnight here in the Uk!
Here is the card I made my dad for his Birthday yesterday, dad was in the navy and loves anything maritime so I had this idea to try a ship in a bottle card! It's quite plain but took me ages and as I am so bad and leave things till last minute I was up til 4am yesterday morning finishing it as the acetate would not behave when I was trying to glue it all together! Dad loved it but I don't think I will be trying another one very soon!!
The card is an A4 sheet 8 1/2"x 11" folded in half lengthways. The template for the bottle I bought from www.craftersdelight.co.uk and I cut it out by hand using acetate. The ship is cut with cricut and My World cart and is the Mayflower cut cut @ 2 3/4 many many times! It has been layered and pop dotted many times for dimension. I found a real cork from a bottle of wine that I hadn't thrown away just in case I could use it for something lol and sliced it down the middle. Some gold lines strategically placed on the bottle to hide the joins and some string. The sentiment is computer generated and matted on gold and black to match the ship.
This is a bit different for me but I was pleased with the end result having been up nearly all night making it!!!
Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend!

I LOVE IT ON THE WEB!!

Good afternoon
It's my dad's Birthday today and he is 73 years young! Dad loves his computer and loves surfing the web so I made a card for my son Connor to give his Grampy using the spider image from Lily-Boos Creepy Crawlie Circles collection.
The card is 6x6" and I added a c'ordinations black magic mat embossed with the spiders web Fiskars folder and sanded. I added a speech bubble to the spider and coloured his little boots with promarkers and added a greeting all matted on silver mirri. These Lily-Boo images can enable you to make such fun cards and it's as easy as click, print, colour and stick and you get 6 gorgeous images in each collection for just £1.99!
My dad loved it
Happy Birthday DAD

HOT CHOCOLATE AND MARSHMALLOWS! CUTTLEBUGSPOT

Good Morning
Well it's freezing and raining here in Wales today. There is a real Autumn feel in the air!
Over at the Cuttlebugspot this week Nilda asked us to use the word HOT in our projects.
Well have you ever had a time where everything you did went wrong? Well that's what happened to me on this one and by the time I finished it I was tearing my hair out lol!
I decided to make a card with a mug of hot chocolate and a little bag of marshmallows to go with it yum yum!
The card is 6x6 and I printed all the papers from various Pink Petticoat downloads onto photo glossy card. The mug is cut from Cricut cart Christmas Cheer @ 6" shadow in pink, base shadow in mocha and base in pink and white dots. Also extra base in silver mirri just for the steam. I cut a circle from Plantin School cart @ 5" and offset it on the card and embossed with Cuttlebug folder Divine Swirls. I handcut the sentiment Just For You and Hot Chocolate which I computer generated using font Cheri and mounted on to silver. Added a pink gingham bow.
The little bag is cut with Cricut cart Tags Bags which I opened in DS and just added a circle from Plantin School(no welding needed) for the window. The scalloped circle frame is from Storybook and again just added a circle in the middle from Plantin School to make it into a frame which is cuttled with Swiss dots. I added acetate to the window and filled with mini marshmallows then some Tuille net and a tag.
My original card had Liquid applique as the topping in the mug but I was not happy with it so this morning I ripped it off and replaced it with marshmallows lol!
Hope you will visit the Cuttlebug Spot this week and see my DT sisters fabulous projects and we would love to see your 'HOT' projects and as usual there is a prize for the winner!
Thanks for looking and have a lovely week everyone!

MOBILE MAN!

Good morning
I was asked to make a card for someone who is obsessed with his mobile phone(aren't they all!) For my American friends we call cell phones mobile phones in the UK.
So as I seem to be into black and silver for male cards at the moment this is what I came up with!
6x6" card covered with silver and black striped mirricard from Kanban. The phone is cut with my Cricut using Going Places cart and the phone is cut @ 5 1/2" blackout shadow in black, shadow in silver mirri and base in black and pop dotted for dimension. I used silver inkjet adhesive film for printing Happy Birthday Andrew which is the phone screen and also for the words Mobile and Man which is matted onto black and pop dotted. Font is Broadway.
As usual mirri is a nightmare to photograph lol but I did my best!
Thanks for looking and hope you all have a great Sunday!

Good morning
It's the weekend again..... at last!
I have to make a load of cards over the next few days so decided to make a couple of super simple computer generated cards. It's my brother Stephen's birthday tomorrow and he hates fussy cards. He likes very plain less is more and in his case he likes MUCH less is more lol! I recently did him some vinyl cuts for his bathroom of the Gecko from LAB which he loved so I made this very simple small card using a clipart, simple greeting and a couple of small gems.
The second card I made is for someone who loves chocolate, I chose to stay with just computer graphics and found a chocolate digital download (from http://jonigray.blogspot.com although this download has expired unfortunately. The site is well worth a visit though as she is a very talented lady and there are some gorgeous digital downloads freebies on her site) and printed on to photo glossy ( although you can't tell it's glossy from the photo!just a bit of flash at the bottom sorry for that!)just a computer greeting and I was done.
I used to make a lot of computer generated cards when I started making cards about 10 years ago before getting my Cricut and all the other wonderful tools you can get nowadays. So every now and again you will probably see some of thes quick and easy cards appearing on here!
Have a great weeekend everyone looks like we might have some sunshine here according to the weather forecast! :)

PARTY INVITATION! CUTTLEBUG SPOT

Good evening
Well I don't know what is going on with blogger at the moment seems to be acting up a bit! Oh well we'll see what happens with this post!
Over at the Cuttlebug Spot this week Nilda asked us to make an Invitation and it could be for any event!
I chose to make a general party invitation. I made a shaped card with my Cricut using Design Studio and a party hat from Celebrations cart and the letters for party welded down the side of the hat are from Sesame Street Font cart. The base card is all made from shadow functions and topped with base layers. The paper is from a Pink Petticoat download and the black and white ric rac is from my stash. You're invited is computer generated font is Ravie and some pink gems from my stash. Party is cuttled with CB folder Swiss Dots and the party hat is topped off with a large white pom pom from Hobbycraft. I was quite pleased with my little party hat invitation then when I looked at the photograph I'd taken I thought it looked like a Christmas Tree!! Ah well perhaps it can be a Christmas Party invite!!
I hope you visit the Cuttlebug Spot, my DT sisters have made some fabulous invites for all different occasions and as ever why not join in and let us see your take on the challenge and there is also a prize for the winner!

SHAPED CARD 8TH BIRTHDAY

Good morning
Where did the weekend go?! Time is flying this year don't you think, half way through August already! Christmas will be here soon!
Anyway I just made this card for a little boy Ben who will soon be 8.
For the card I made a shaped 8 card in DS using Sesame Street font Cricut cart and the letters welded on to the 8 are from the same cart. The base layer is cut in red and silver speckled card from Kanban and the top letters are cut in silver mirricard. I used Sk8 from the Lily-Boo boys collection for the little silver circles which I turned from jpeg into a PNG file which allowed me then to change the outline drawing to red which I printed on to silver inkjet, cut with my circle nesties, pop dotted and placed at the top and bottom of the 8 The greeting is a silver peeloff coloured red with a permanent marker and mounted on silver mirricard.
The boy images from Lily-Boos are so versatile to print and use however you want, there are so many different ways to use these images and you get a collection of 6 for just £1.99! Great for the male cards we all struggle with!
Sorry for the glare on the photos you can see the image better on the third photo!
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

GUITAR CARD

Hello
My friend asked me to make a card for her son Matt who will be 14 tomorrow and is learning to play the guitar.
For my card I used an A5 (8 1/2x11"folded in half) card covered with the black and silver paper from DCWV Rockstar stack. The star is cut from cricut cart George in black @4 3/4" on shadow twice and once in silver mirri card for base which I then cuttled with CB folder Diamond Plate (spot the mistake it's debossed I put the folder on the wrong way!). The guitar is from Indie Art cart cut @ 5" in black silver and white photo glossy. I only threaded 3 strings as it was driving me mad trying to do this lol and some silver beads at the top of the guitar. The sentiment is on Silver inkjet although impossible to tell from the photo matted on black and again on silver. All are pop dotted for dimension. This card looks so much better in real life it was so hard to photograph! My friend was really pleased with it thank goodness!
Thanks for looking!

SENDING YOU BIG BUNCHES OF BIRTHDAY WISHES! CUTTLEBUG SPOT

Good afternoon
I spoke too soon it's raining here in Wales today!! We've had a great day though I've just come back from a taking Connor and his friend's for a day's Go karting and Connor is chuffed with himself as he won a gold medal for fastest lap of the day!
Anyway this is my DT card for the Cuttlebug Spot this week. Nilda asked us to follow a sketch this week and my DT sister Aymee set the sketch. Thanks Aymee. Well let me tell you I have never followed a sketch before and so my card is a bit 'stilted'as I tried to follow the sketch far too closely lol! I will know next time that I can have a bit more freedom with a sketch!
For my card I used a gorgeous digital stamped image from Pollycraft Designs from the Twiddly Wings 2 collection. I was lucky enough to be one of the blogcandy winners of this collection last week! The images are just the cutest and Pollycrafts also give away a freebie every Friday so it's well worth a visit.
The card is 8x8" and the backing paper is a Pink Petticoat download Small Swirls printed in Blossom. The embossing is one of my favourite CB folder Swiss Dots. The image is called Twiddly Wings Bunches(because of her bunch of flowers and the bunches in her hair) so that gave me the idea for the sentiment which is computer generated. She is coloured with promarkers and I used Diamond dust on her wings. I used my fiskars threading water border punch for the scalloped border and the circles are cut with Cricut george @ 1 1/2 and a 5" cut off . Some punched butterflies on paper I coloured with promarkers to match the image, some satin ribbon and three heart buttons from my stash and I was done!
Thanks as always for looking and if you join us at the Cuttlebug Spot this weeke there's another great prize up for grabs!

The cute little boy is coloured with red an black promarkers and some chalking. The frame on both the sentiments and the image are from my Microsoft Digital Imaging programme and the sentiments are computer generated fonts are Elephant and for the word Tyre Eagle GT which looks like tyre tracks! A bit of matting and layering and there it is.

CHILDHOOD SWEETHEARTS

click on the pictures for a better view!

Good Afternoon
I haven't blogged for a week, haven't been well all week but hopefully am on the mend now!
Anyway this week over at the Cuttlebugspot Nilda asked us to make a card/project using one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders recently released. I used 'Victoria' as it's one of my favourites and I can see me using this lots!
My DT card this week is different for me I think it has a 'days gone by look' and I also wanted to try my new Cricut cartridge A Child's Year. It has such beautiful cuts and lots of extras and an alphabet!
My card is 8x8" covered with DCWV paper from the Luxury stack, I thought this paper matched the CB Victoria folder so well. I cut the heart with Plantin school twice base 4 3/4 " with pink pearlescent card and shadow once in cream pearlescent. The top base is embossed with CB Victoria folder and then adhered to the other base cut. I then adhered ribbon with organza frilled edge right around the heart and pop dotted the heart onto the shadow heart. I cut the valentine children from A Child's Year cart at 3 3/4" base in DCWV Luxury stack and shadow in pink pearlescent adhered and inked to death! then pop dotted onto the heart. The sentiment is computer generated 'Childhood' is Castellar font and 'Sweethearts' is Edwardian Script ITC. I cut the sentiment with spellbinders Labels 4 in two sizes and again pop dotted and inked. I added some flowers from my stash and some tiny pink pearl flowers in the centres. Just some pink satin ribbon from my stash to the top and botton of the heart to finish.
Thank you for looking today and if you would like to join in there is more than one prize this week the 1st prize being the FULL set of 11 new Cuttlebug embossing folders!! So come and join us at the Cuttlebugspot as always we'd love to see your creations!
Have a great week everyone and let's hope we get some sun in the UK this week!!
