BOO!! BBTB2 Candle Challenge

Good evening
This week over at BBTB2 the fabulously talented Sandi Kelly chose the candle cut from October 31st cart. I don't have this cart so after searching through my carts found this candle on the Christmas Noel solutions cart.

I made a shaped card using the candle in DS (which I am so happy to say is back up and running! I felt so lost without it and would like to thank Provo for getting me back up and running with DS so quickly! I emailed them and within a few days received an email with a new activation code. Great service!) My card is 7 3/4" tall and the card shape was cut in black card on shadow then another shadow in black .The base is cut from orange glitter card and pop dotted for dimension. The ghosts are a Sizzix die cut twice , once in white card and again in white glitter card. I sandwiched a small piece of black glitter card between my ghosts so that they have black sparkly eyes! and also some black glitter card behind the orange flame. The large ghost is sandwiched between the shadow and base layer of the candle and the smaller ghost pop dotted atop the candle. Finally BOO is cut from another Sizzix die in black glitter card.

So come on over and join in our challenge and just take a look at the fabulous creations the DT have created again this week! You can use any candle cut and we would love you to join us!

'SIX PACK MATT!!'

Good afternoon and happy weekend everyone!
I made a card for Matt who is the deputy manager at the store I work for and it was his birthday yesterday. Now all the girls who work with me think Matt is a bit of an adonis! So this card was perfect for him! I have to say that this design is not my idea, I got this idea from the fabulously talented Enfys at Going Buggy who made a similar card for her son earlier this year. When I saw it I got my son to start collecting the ring pulls from his coke cans and have built up quite a collection!!

The card is A5 in size and I cut the can tops using some mirricard which has an aluminium look to it and pop dotted for a little dimension. To cut the tops I used circle nestabilities and thought the embossed edge gave some authenticity to a can top! I just added the ring pulls which I adhered using Pinflair Glue Gel (love this glue it sticks anything!) The backing paper is from Papermania 'The Big One'stack and I computer generated the sentiment.

Thanks for popping in!

NOT JUST FOR CAKES!

Good evening
Well my laptop is back up and running woo hoo so I will be able to get around to visiting my fav blogs again! I lost all my files which is the bad news but the good news is I don't plan on making the same mistake again and will back up regularly!

Anyway just wanted to post an easy card I made for my dad who celebrated his birthday at the end of August. I recently bought the Holiday cakes cart and although this cart is sold as a Cricut Cake cart let me tell you there are some great cuts on there that make quick and easy cards!

My dad recently bought a new car so this card using just the Holiday cakes cart was just the perfect card for him a number plate card!

Secondly I made this card for my dad from Connor my son using Serif Digital Scrapbooking free programme , I've purchased the upgrade which I will load on to my new desktop when I get it as I don't think my ancient desktop will take any more lol! The photo I used in this card is of my dad when he was a Second Officer in his Merchant Navy days.

See you soon have a great weekend all!

BBTB2 MINI MONOGRAMS CHALLENGE

Good morning
This is me posting from my ancient desktop as my laptop is in the computer shop who have confirmed that I have lost all my files but are attempting to fix the laptop so all my files are gone!! So a huge lesson learned here I must back up regularly!

Anyway over at BBTB2 this week our readers chose Mini Monograms and Heather asked us to use any of the numbers in any form for our projects. Guess who read the challenge wrongly yes me! so I used letters! Another lesson learned read the challenge details properly lol! In my defence I have had a stressful week with my laptop and more importantly Connor starting college!

So here is my project for this week. I made a card and a matching charm bracelet for a little girl called Isabella, who goes by the shortened name Issy. The papers used for the card are backing papers in a soft green houndstooth from MAMBI baby girl stack and the letters cut using pink C'ordinations card with Mini Monograms. I just added two ribbons tied through one of the holes of the first and third letter to finish off and printed the sentiment over the backing paper. For the bracelet I broke up a chain necklace from my stash and also the little crystal bead charms were from my stash and just attached with jump rings. The pink letter charms are shrink plastic cut at 4" (I used multicut 3 times) then shrunk down with a heatgun. Just added a little green ribbon to match the detail on the card to finish. The ribbon, C'ordinations card and shrink plastic are all from Hobbycraft.

Please take a minute to visit BBTB2 and see the fabulous projects my DT sister have come up with this week and why not play along with us!

Finally just a quick update on Connor's first week in college. The support he has received so far has been wonderful, he's still very nervous and overwhelmed with it all at the moment but I feel very reassured that they will support and care for him there very well.

Enjoy the rest of the week

BLOG CANDY WINNER!

Good afternoon all
I've picked a winner today for my little Blogcandy using Random.org
                                   DRUMROLL PLEASE!

                                                   43

                                              MARY JEAN

Mary Jean congratulations! Could you email me your address at juile.huxter@ntlworld.com and I'll send your candy out asap!

On another note folks just want to say that my Laptop died the other day so I'm working off my ancient slow as a snail desktop at the moment so if I don't get round to your blogs you know why!
I'm taking my laptop to the Computer shop on Monday in the hope that they can retrieve my files I have not backed up! I know I know my own fault and believe me I won't make that mistake again, if they can't retrieve I will lose all the digitals I have purchased, don't even want to think about it! And I feel like I've lost my right arm without my precious Cricut Design Studio just hope when I get a new laptop that Provo will be speedy in giving me a new number!

Ah well it's only a computer. My darling boy Connor starts college on Monday, so an exciting and scary time for us both, that's far more important than my computer! Good luck Connor I'm so very proud of you!

Enjoy your weekend everyone
