HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hi everyone
May I just take this opportunity to wish you all A Very Happy New Year! Have you made any resolutions??!! I don't usually as I break them so quickly lol! This year though I do hope that I can make more cards! I see all the wonderful blogs out there who post so many beautiful cards so often so thats my sort of resolution to make more cards and post more on my blog! Let's see if I can keep it up!
Well I do have a card to post but its a very simple card for a male. Yep all my cards for men are simple as I find them so difficult you can't add all the bling sparkle and glitter you can for girly cards.
This card is for an artist called Tony who is just about to turn 50! I used a plain white 6"x6" card, Plantin School cartridge for the 50 (in silver mirri card) which I made narrower in Design studio. This was pop dotted on to the card then I found a picture of a palette which I googled took out the flat paint which was on the picture in one of my graphics programmes and added the name Tony (sorry can't remember the font used). For the paint I went to see my dad also a painter and 'borrowed' some of his acrylic paints and blobbed them on the palette, they look quite 3d in real life and added a nice dimension, I did have to leave them to dry for a few hours, then cut out the palette and pop dotted on the front of the 50. Very plain I know but looks quite effective in real life! Photos are not fab as it was photographed in the evening!
So there you go I have kept my resolution up so far lol!

Have a great day!

Julie... I love your card. I brought some of that mirri card from Mandi (Bunnylover). Haven't used it yet... but can't wait to try it. Your 50 looks like gold mirri. Thank you again for the award, I need to take it and put it on my blog. (I almost cried when I saw you had mentioned me - then when I realized you had given me the award, I was just stunned. Thank you so much for thinking of me. Today is my 1st day off (and my last day) from my job- trying to rest up. I need to get inspired to make Brent a birthday card and you may have just inspired me. Well, didn't I rattle on and on. I hope you have a WONDERFUL New Year.

Happy New year Julie!!! Girlfriend , you have it going on, 1st, you are keeping your resolution by posting more cards, and 2nd, you are creating masterpieces!!! I love it! Just the thought of you actually using real paint, makes this an artist creation. I love that you intermixed the paint into the card, what a clever idea, being that it is for an artist. You are truly an amazing artist yourself. TFS !! Keep them coming in 2009, we all need the inspiration!

Hugz,
