SHIP IN A BOTTLE CARD!

Good morning just it's just past midnight here in the Uk!
Here is the card I made my dad for his Birthday yesterday, dad was in the navy and loves anything maritime so I had this idea to try a ship in a bottle card! It's quite plain but took me ages and as I am so bad and leave things till last minute I was up til 4am yesterday morning finishing it as the acetate would not behave when I was trying to glue it all together! Dad loved it but I don't think I will be trying another one very soon!!
The card is an A4 sheet 8 1/2"x 11" folded in half lengthways. The template for the bottle I bought from www.craftersdelight.co.uk and I cut it out by hand using acetate. The ship is cut with cricut and My World cart and is the Mayflower cut cut @ 2 3/4 many many times! It has been layered and pop dotted many times for dimension. I found a real cork from a bottle of wine that I hadn't thrown away just in case I could use it for something lol and sliced it down the middle. Some gold lines strategically placed on the bottle to hide the joins and some string. The sentiment is computer generated and matted on gold and black to match the ship.
This is a bit different for me but I was pleased with the end result having been up nearly all night making it!!!
Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend!

Hi Julie

Great card. Really original and so much hard work.

Don't think I would have the patience for this! Your Dad is going to love it.

You were right - no heart on my card!!! Have warned everyone on my blog so they don't spend hours looking for it!! It is on my craft table.

I changed my card at the last minute - the heart was on my original ribbon but I decided the bow wasn't big enough and changed it. Silly girl!

The paper was from Costco quite a while ago I'm afraid so it may not be available. Sorry! I do have half a sheet left. If you would like this then email me your address and I will wend it your way! I shalln't need it anymore as I will be finishng crafting now after such an horrendous blunder LOL!!!

Love Jules xx

Dear Julie, I love this card and so wanted to make one for my dad too; but could not find the template to purchase @ crafters delight. I used your card as my inspiration & tried to wing it on my own. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card!

Was wondering if you would be willing to share the bottle template, since the place you got it from no longer has it.

Thanks for sharing!
