BBTB2 HEARTS CHALLENGE AND BLOGHOP!

Hello everyone
Well it's the end of January already and time for another BBTB2 bloghop!
The challenge this week has been set by the wonderfully talented Maria who asked us to use the Lovestruck 2010 Cricut cartridge and to create a scrapbook page or card which had to include two hearts. I have this cart so was good to go but if you don't have this cart there is an array of hearts to be found on lots of other carts!
My card is 6X6 and the polka dot paper is from MME Lush collection. I took the gorgeous heart and into  DS, framed it with a square from Plantin School cart and then used hide contour to hide the outer line of the heart and welded the two together. I like this effect as the heart is then cut out either straight in to you card or layer as I have done. I used a corner rounder to soften the corners and pop dotted the layer on to my card and then cut a small red heart again from Lovestruck which I embossed with one of the little Cuttlebug folders from the Heart 3x3 cut and emboss set. My little border of red felt boys and girls with hearts is from Hobbycraft and I tied a little black and white gingham bow to the top of the heart with a little felt heart. The sentiment is computer generated , font is Gigi.
Now on to the bloghop! You should have reached my blog from the super talented Krista and now it's time to hop over and feast your eyes on the gorgeous card Susan has to show you! Don't forget to leave a comment to  let me know you've visited to be in with the chance to win some candy. Please leave me contact details and I will make a random draw on Saturday 5th February!

CUTTLEBUGSPOT ADVERTISEMENT CHALLENGE

Good afternoon
Today is Cuttlebugspot Challenge day and the last in the series this month for inspiration challenges. Nilda asked us to take inspiration from an advert from a magazine or anywhere else you might see an advert.
The only magazines I subscribe to are Craft Magazines (no surprise there lol!) so when I was at the hairdressers last week I found an advert which I liked and my hairdresser let me rip out the page but unfortunately it got too crumpled in my handbag to photograph ! I did however find this picture on the internet of the same bedding shown in the advert so I was good to go!
The inspiration for my card centres round the vivid colours of the flowers and I found this pretty vase of flowers? on my Cricut cart Pagoda (another I haven't used before!!!!). I cut the base out in black twice at   4  1/2" and cut off the branches of the second one so I could pop dot the vase whih I embossed with Cuttlebug folder Forest Branches. I had some orange, fuschia and purple cardstock in my stash but had to make my own turquoise card on my computer which I used to cut all the little flower pieces and I embossed the large ones with the small dot Cuttlebug folder that comes  with the 3x3 Cut and Emboss Butterly set. I embossed straight on to the card base using a Creative Expressions embossing folder called Crackle and some peeloffs for the little sentiment which I coloured fuschia and orange with permanent markers onto black card matted on turquoise.
Please pop over to The Cuttlebugspot and checkout the wonderful ideas and creations the rest of the DT have come up with and we'd love you to join in and there is a great prize you could win too!
Thank you so much for popping in today

BBTB2 BUTTERFLY CHALLENGE

Good  Afternoon
Over at BBTB2 this week our Design Team member Lori chose the gorgeous butterfly cut from Once Upon A Princess Cricut cartridge. I don't own this cart so I made my card using the butterfly cut from my Picturesque cart ( another cart I had to have and not used!! are any of you out there like this?lol YES I hear you say!)
I started out with a 6x6" card blank which I cut down by about 1 1/2 ". I purchased some fabulous new  digi papers from my favourite site Pink Petticoat yesterday and thought they would make a lovely background for the butterflies. The download is brand new in the shop and is called Perfect Papers and is only £2.49 for 24 papers! I printed out 2 of the papers and adhered to my card. I cut a black strip card and punched with my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch. I then added 2 thin strips of the very sticky double sided tape on to the strip and ruffled some seam binding ribbon (which I got from  Ribbon Girl ) across. I then inked around the edge of the card with an aqua blue chalk ink. Finally for my butterflies I used Making Memories shimmer paper from a 12x12 Slice pack and they are cut at 1 1/2" and 1 1/4".To finish off I added some Prima bling which I coloured black with a black permanent marker. Happy Birthday sentiment is computer generated.
Please pop over to BBTB2 for some wonderful Butterfly inspiration from the rest of the DT and we would love you to join in with us and share your beautiful butterfly creations.
Have a lovely week everyone

CUTTLEBUG SPOT CHILDHOOD GAMES

Good evening
This week over at the Cuttlebugspot Nilda asked us to take inspiration from a childhood game for our projects.I chose to make a card using the game noughts and crosses /tic tac toe which I remember being taught to play as a child.. XOX and OXO now represents hugs and kisses so I decided to make a Valentine card for the man in your life who doesn't like frills!
My card is 5 1/2x5 1/2" square and I created some background word paper on my computer. The embossed square is Cuttlebug Plaid folder which I got from Cricut rewards and comes in a Christmas set. The folder is 5x7"so I just cut out a nine square and matted on Black card and pop dotted on to my card. I added  black and white polka dot buttons threaded with red thread for the 'o's and the 'x's are cut in red card using my Cricut and Cutting Up cart at 1 1/2"
Please pop over to the Cuttlebugspot and see the fabulous projects the DT have created using childhood games as their inspiration and we would love to see your take on the challenge.
Thamks for visiting today and have a great week!
